a backyard prayer

Happy winter.

Last night I was on Pinterest. And I found the most interesting person. She makes land art. Isn’t this ivy leaf line amazing?

 

And these sycamore seed sails ~aren’t they completely inspiring?

 

I clicked through her photos in amazement … as if she lived in some kind of magical land. It made me yearn for that kind of beauty in my own backyard.

But then I realized, I have the same raw materials. Plenty of leaves and sticks and stones. The difference between her life and mine is that she took time to appreciate what she had. 

Today, I’m going to take a deep breath and look around my own life a bit. Because there is beauty waiting to be discovered.

I bet there’s some in your life too.

I’m saying a little prayer that we’ll both take the time to appreciate what’s sitting nearby ~ just waiting. Small gifts to unwrap …
