A Place for Peace

Every morning when I wake up, I have one of three choices.:

  1. Wake and resurrect yesterday’s worries.
  2. Wake and embrace tomorrow’s worries.
  3. Wake and sink deeply into today’s peace.

As a practice, I am working toward sinking into today’s peace. But the funny thing about peace is that many times, it does not come easily.  Because worry is an easy friend. It slips in and takes a well-worn spot, filling my mind. But peace wants space. Peace doesn’t share. Because peace brings plans that are much bigger than I can imagine. A real exercise in creativity and spirituality.

So I fight off fear to make room for peace.

I reject fear one ridiculous thought at a time.

So peace can have it’s place …
