antique basin bird bath
It’s nice to have resourceful friends. Cat is my resourceful garden friend. Just last week, she came over for lunch ~ and I ended up with a new, very unique bird bath. Went something like this:
Cat spies concrete pavers stacked carelessly in my backyard. Cat remembers a bird bath basin she saw on pinterest. I remember an unemployed vintage basin in my garage. And ta-da … this is the result.
We placed the pavers by the window near my kitchen table.
Made sure to stack them algae side out. I love that greenish hue on stone.
Added stones, shards and water.
Then finished up with some potted plants and whismy whatnot at the base.
It’s my new favorite garden feature.
And Cat is my favorite garden friend. :)
I’m guessing there are about a million little ways to turn something you already have into something useful for your garden.
Any thoughts about what else could serve as a bird bath or feeder?
There are joys which long to be ours. God sends ten thousands truths, which come about us like birds seeking inlet; but we are shut up to them, and so they bring us nothing, but sit and sing awhile upon the roof, and then fly away. ~Henry Ward Beecher
