Good News Austin: JLA’s The Magic of Christmas
When clever women gather, they come up with all kinds of fabulous. And this year’s fabulous is: The Junior League of Austin’s: The Magic of Christmas.
I went last night and was mesmerized. Gorgeous setting, unbelievable selection of merchandise and some of the nicest people on the planet. I actually got so wrapped up in the experience ~ wandering from booth to booth, seeing friends, and meeting vendors ~ that I barely put a dent in my Christmas list.
No worries. I’m headed back this afternoon. And maybe even over the weekend cause it does take a little time to check out all 200 merchants.
I spent quite a bit of time in Kim’s booth (on the left, in yellow). She is the owner and designer of Haul Couture. Her story is amazing and her stunning totes are pure genius. She likes helping people … and spreading sunshine. And she’s doing it!
Also spend time visiting with Jose’ at Paloma’s Nest. He and his wife are a sweet arty collaboration. They make handcrafted heirlooms. And they’re actually Austin folks ~ have a studio down on South Congress. But I never even knew about them til I landed at A Christmas Affair. Nice.
If you need to do some serious shopping, want to do good doing it (money raised through ACA helps the JLA invest millions in our community) ~ then I’d say head on down to A Christmas Affair at the Palmer Events Center. I promise you’ll have fun doing it!
