Happy Hour Austin: Cru’
How did you celebrate the first day of Fall?
Will and I went to the Domain for Happy Hour at Cru’ and sat on the patio. Ahhh …
Can I tell you how truly happy it is that we finally get to sit outdoors without sweating to death? All of Austin was in kind of a frantic panic to drink in the autumn goodness yesterday. It”s been so hot ~ and we all know ~ a spectacular day below 90 degrees is a day to be outside enjoying the sweetness.
So about Cru’ Happy Hour: It’s simply fabulous!!!
We’ve been twice now and both times, we ordered a flight of wine. Probably because we’re not wine connoisseurs ~ and the flight helps us refine our extremely unrefined palate. Will got the Sexy Reds ~ and I got the Latin Lovers. (They all taste a little better than those ’10$ and under’ bottles we pick up at the grocery store. ;)
Now, the Small Plates.
We love their Marghertia Pizza ~ not as good as the recipe I make at home but for $3 ~ great value. Fried Potstickers are fabulous. ($3) Lamb Lollipops were amazing ~ and I was reluctant to order them. But wow, they were sensational. ($7) And finally, the Bruschetta ($3) is quite tasty. And pretty. (Yep, that’s bv reduction on that plate people. Perfect for Bruschetta at home or Grilled Caprese Sandwich.)
Cru’ Happy Hour is weekdays from 4-7 pm. Count on a fabulous assortment of small plate bites starting at just $3 each, wines by the glass (and flights) at $3 off ~ and the greatest servers ever. (Hi, Jorge!) Want a lovely, little Happy Hour in Austin? Head to Cru’.
Happy Autumn from Austin!
