Is God Disappointed in Me?
There was a conversation yesterday over lunch at bible study. (Another gorgeous lunch from Roxann … tomato and goat cheese tarts. Recipe later.)
The conversation centered around the question: Is God disappointed in me?
Is God disappointed in me … when I don’t read my bible, go to church, say hi to my neighbor, put 100% into my work, gripe at my kids, nag my husband, ignore people that ask too much of me?
We talked about it. Wondered out loud about it. Cause it seems like it would be easy for God to be disappointed in us. I know I’ve done plenty for Him to be disappointed. And I certainly get disappointed in me.
But there is a big difference between God and me. (Kind of an understatement ~ but stick with me.)
God isn’t surprised by anything I do. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. There is nothing I’ve done ~ or will do that surprises Him. So how in the world could I disappoint Him?
To be disappointed in someone ~ you have to hold a hope that failed.
Disappointed – Sad or displeased because someone or something has failed to fulfill one’s hopes or expectations. Depressed or discouraged by the failure of one’s hopes or expectations.
I don’t disappoint God.
And neither do you …
