Mother’s Day Wish List

Mother’s Day is coming up. And I’ve had my eye on all kinds of goodies because my people usually ask me for a list.  Hey Mom, what do you want for Mother’s Day?

I usually have some lame-o list but I recently visited Williams Sonoma and was overwhelmed with appliance envy.

Wish list item #1: Nespresso Pixie Espresso Maker

I sampled this one. Delightful and delish. The crema reminded me of mornings in Spain.

Or maybe this … the Breville Panini Maker.

These gouda-spinach-tomato sandwiches would taste even better. But then I saw this …

A pie maker. Pie oh pie. I love pie. Especially buttermilk pie. Did I mention I love pie?

But the longer I thought about it … the more I realized that’s not what I want for Mother’s Day at all. I mean gadgets are nice and all. But gosh, I’ve got a house full of them.

What I want for Mother’s Day – and every day –  is all my kids loving God with all their hearts for all their lives. I want them to have an outstanding passion for God. Not just a deep seated morality, though that is a benefit. Not just a do good mentality, though I’m grateful for a heart of service. But truly, at the end of it all, I just want my kids to love God all their lives.

And so, this year for Mother’s Day – I’m going to ask them to pray. To love God for a lifetime. Cause, truly, that would be the greatest gift of all.
