penny and sparrow: struggle pretty

For the next three days, I want to share three things that will help you with your house, your heart and your whole life direction. Just three little things.

Today, I’m giving you something for your heart. It’s music that will change you.

Penny and Sparrow:  Struggle Pretty

Yep. The new album is out today. And it’s amazing. So much about this one I love because really, it’s about family to me.

My brother-in-law, Jeff, designed the cover.

Jeff was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s seven years ago. Penny and Sparrow’s Andy Baxter and Kyle Jahnke (Jeff is Kyle’s father-in-law) felt Jeff is the epitome of ‘struggling pretty’ in life because of the way he has handled his diagnosis with Alzheimer’s. They felt it was only fitting that they would use his art on their cover. Don’t you love that?

And I think if Jeff struggles pretty, his wife Lisa, struggles beautiful. She is truly my hero.

Hey Lisa … have I told you lately how much I love and admire you? You’re a fighter. You love well. You are a wonderful mother to your girls and a fantastic wife to Jeff. You take care of everything with grace and dignity. You are a Proverbs 31 kind of woman. You struggle beautiful. I love you. Susie

There’s more goodness on the album: My daughter, Sara, sings with Penny and Sparrow on a few of the songs including a duet with Andy on ‘Stoic’ but for now, enjoy ‘Rattle.’ It’s gorgeous.
