practical gratitude

Last weekend, Will and I had the opportunity to teach together at church. Things always get rowdy when we teach together and this message was no exception. Let’s just say there was a mention of heart attack pain, emergency room visits and Brussels sprouts. It all worked out in the end, of course. There were just a few moments we got off track talking about personal life.

A few of the things we talked about:

  • You don’t have to like what’s going on in order to give God gratitude.
  • You can always thank God for who he is no matter what’s going on in your life.
  • It makes no sense at all to thank God for a desperate situation but you can do it anyway. And somehow in the mix of it, you’re close to God because of gratitude.
  • It’s better to be a joy scatterer than a joy pooper!

Here’s to making homemade pies, enjoying time with family and giving the biggest and best thanks to God!

Happiest Thanksgiving to you!
