Welcome …
Last weekend, I went to my middle daughter’s homecoming at Baylor University in Waco .
There’s my Emily, on the left and her precious roommate, Laura, on the right.
And my son, Will 3 (Baylor grad) with his newly married friends – Ryan and Sarah Tew (center and left). Fabulous, smiley couple. I’ve known them a very long time. As a matter of fact, I had the chance to mentor Sarah and several of her friends their senior year in high school. It was such a privilege to spend time with them and have a chance to speak into their lives.
While I was at BU, I went to the Pi Phi mom’s breakfast and got to hear the latest pledge class do their thing. Singing, hand motions. This way and that. Tons of fun. And then in that crowded room, a friend of Emily’s I’d yet to meet came up to me and said something that blew me and away.
She said, “I’m embarrassed to tell you this … but I creep on your blog every day.”
My jaw nearly dropped. I was humbled. And ecstatic.
And I said, “Don’t be embarrassed!! That’s what blogs are for – you just keep on creeping! I want to encourage you and I’m so glad you like my blog.”
She seemed some relieved. And less embarrassed. But it made me realize something that maybe I haven’t said before. And it’s this:
I am sooo glad you are here. It’s my pleasure. And I consider it a privilege to have the chance to speak into your life. Thank you for stopping by … for being interested in what I have to say. And if you ever want to connect – and let me know you’re out there – feel free to leave a comment and speak your mind. But if you feel more comfortable just reading – with no responding – that’s 100% okay. I’m just glad you stopped by.
Creep away! ;)
