worry is …
Worry is distrust. Worry is suspicion. Worry is disbelief.
So when I worry, I might as well say: I don’t trust God. I have a feeling God isn’t looking out for me.
I might as well say: God is a liar.
That’s what worry really says. It’s not like inviting some cute, fuzzy kitten to curl up in the corner of your mind. Worry is a cat … but the bigger kind.
‘Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.’
