What to Wear: Fall Edition
A million years ago when I was in college at Baylor University, we’d wear wool skirts and sweaters to the football game because it was fall y’all. Pull out the cardigans. And of course, we’d be absolutely sweating watching the ball game. I was also the generation tucked away all white skirts, pants, and sandals right after Labor Day.
I can’t tell you how happy I am that all those fashion standards relaxed down the years and actually reflect the weather. Thank goodness.
The other glorious thing that happened as I’ve aged is I just feel more freedom to just do what works for me – fashion included. While I might be inclined to give a nod to a darker palate this fall, I’m not going to pack away all my linen when it’s nearly one hundred degrees here in Austin. Instead, I wear what I love with a little mix and match in-between that mirrors the season.
This is my little list of what I wear during the sweltering seasons Texas style:
- The Fall Edition in Texas where the weather plays wildly full of linen dresses + the perfect shoes for the season.
- Birkenstocks all the time. For fall, I picked these black ones. Love them. Wear them all the time. In Texas you can wear them all year long.
- And of course, my all time favorite to throw on in the morning, and drop mid-day when the temperatures soar: Sapana Blanket Coat
- Best hair products for messy braids or bun because with the weather – you never know.
- During Round Top Antique Show when it’s 90 degrees and dusty, you’ll find me in this oh so cute cap via The Franklin. You probably need one too. :)
