Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
Some days, you need cookies. I think today is one of those days. And Hilliary is here to share her mom’s recipe. And actually make the cookies. So it’s a really good day.
Honest confession: we staged this. Not the day or the need for cookies. But yes, we staged this photo. I don’t usually set everything out pretty. On a place mat.
Hilliary doesn’t usually pour the cake mix in a vintage cup. Too much trouble.
But for you, we did. And it was fun.
And pretty. Until the vintage mixer freaked out. It just couldn’t take all that dough.
Kinda like my nerves. They freaked out on me after a riding accident. And they just can’t take it all. Not yet. So Hilliary’s been helping me out. Doing wedding stuff (a wedding this weekend, eep!), writing stuff, house stuff. Lots of stuff. Even making cookies. Hilliary is a dream.
Just like these cookies …
And y’all. They’re so easy. Perfect for sharing.
Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 package devil’s food cake mix * 1/2 c. unsalted butter, softened * 1 t. vanilla * 2 eggs * 1 c. white chocolate chips * 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat cake mix, butter, vanilla and eggs in large bowl on medium speed until smooth. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges are set (centers should be soft.) Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Makes 5 dozen.
Matter of fact, I shared some with my neighbor and friend, Kristin. I felt it was only right since she brought over a whole meal for my family!
So grateful for these sweet people in my life.
