Julie’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

I am not sure why this cookie recipe is so wonderful. But it is. Enormously wonderful. The cookies come out of the oven beautiful every time. It might be you only use the whites of the egg.

Perhaps, it’s the Callebaut chocolate …

Or maybe it’s because the recipe is from this baby’s mommy. This is c-wash. She is the  daughter of  d-wash and j-wash who just happen to be the happiest couple on the planet. Because little c-wash

was an answer to many, many prayers.

Now, I am not saying if you make these chocolate chip cookies that they’ll make you as happy as the little d-wash family. Only God can do that. But recipe will make you smile.

Julie’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 ¼ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup packed brown sugar
¾ cup white sugar
½ cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 large egg whites
¾ – 1 cup chocolate chips (Julie uses milk chocolate – I prefer Callebaut semi-sweet.)

Preheat oven to 350º.  Combine sugars and butter, beat with a mixer for 3-4 minutes (important!).  Add vanilla and egg whites and beat until well blended.  Add flour, baking soda and salt and beat.  Add in chocolate chips and blend with a wooden spoon or spatula.

Drop cookies onto cookie sheets sprayed with cooking spray or baking stones.  Bake 11 minutes at 350º.

Makes 4 dozen cookies.
